A personal values test for exploring what matters to you — and what your everyday choices seem to reveal.

A little perspective

What are personal values?

Personal values are the principles, priorities, and qualities that matter to us when we make choices about how we live, work, connect with others, and spend our time.

Some values may feel important because they describe the person we want to be. Others become visible through the choices we repeatedly make in everyday life.

There is no single correct set of values, and values do not need to fit neatly into one personality type. Freedom can matter alongside security. Achievement can matter alongside balance. Growth can coexist with stability.

Life Compass is designed to help you reflect on those combinations rather than reduce them to a single label.

How Life Compass works

  1. Choose your fiveStart with a collection of 50 values and choose the five that feel most important to you right now.
  2. Make everyday choicesAnswer 15 short life-choice questions. The value names behind the questions are not shown while you answer.
  3. Compare the twoLife Compass looks at your chosen five alongside patterns appearing in your responses, giving you another way to reflect on where they meet — and where there may be something worth noticing.

Why compare values with choices?

Knowing which values sound important to us is useful, but everyday life often asks us to balance several things at once.

A choice might involve freedom and security, achievement and balance, or growth and stability. Neither side has to be wrong.

Looking at both your consciously chosen values and the patterns in your choices can create a useful moment of reflection.

Life Compass does not try to tell you what your “real” values are. Instead, it gives you another perspective on the values you already care about.

Questions about personal values

What is a personal values test?

A personal values test is a reflective exercise designed to help you explore the principles and priorities that matter to you. Different tests use different approaches. Life Compass combines values you consciously choose with patterns from everyday life-choice questions.

How do I find my core values?

One way is to start by identifying the values that feel most important to you, then notice how they appear when real choices involve competing priorities. Life Compass guides you through both parts of that reflection.

Can personal values change?

Yes. What feels most important can shift with experience, relationships, responsibilities, and different stages of life. Life Compass is best treated as a snapshot of what matters to you now rather than a permanent label.

Is Life Compass a psychological test?

No. Life Compass is a self-reflection experience, not a clinical or diagnostic psychological assessment. It is designed to help you think about your values and choices from another perspective.
